![]() I think a platform change is a bad idea, especially if you have a big investment in software, fonts and equipment, there is little or no difference in platform use, and to invest in PC can and probably will set you back quite a bit. I think if your designing in Illustrator or Freehand and then outputting with Signmate without too much trouble, then I would keep what you have, if your designing in Signmate, I would re-evaluate your process, and start getting into Illustrator, Freehand or Corel. For PC, I like Signlab and Flexi, Gerber is a little clunky to use, Signwizard is buggy as well as VMP. Since I only recommend sign software for production tools only and NOT design software there is little difference, though I think for a Mac, Flexi-Sign is the most intuative in my opinion, which is not much differnt then your current software. Never heard of SignBlazer but used the rest plus Gerber GA, Omega, Arts and Letters, SignPost, Magisign, Cas-Mate and Inspire. This is a loaded question, but tell me why the software and/or platform change? Posted by Rick Chavez (Member # 2146) on Janu07:06 PM: I did that once 8 or 9 years ago and at CasMate won hands down. Your best choice is to get a demo of each program and try to do the same job. What is most important, ease of use, cost, number of features, ability to import every format? The list is endless. Good luck!! Most people have strong opinions about their favorite software. I suspect you need someone who has used all those software programs and can rate them without bias. Posted by Ernie&DianeBalch (Member # 1301) on Janu06:48 PM: We currently have Printcut with a Mac ,running a PC-50 and are in the process of evaluating new software and an IBM compatable. Sign Wizard, Sign Blazer, Sign Lab, Sign Mate, Flexi Sign and if you have any other programs, how would you rate them, perhaps a little insight into one Versus the other if youve experienced several of them. How would you guys rate the following, and what is your experience with them. I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before. Once again Peter is asking for just an ounce of Knowledge and Wisdom from this big ol' tree.
